I work out my ideas by sketching endlessly. My designs are sober, straightforward and functionally sophisticated. This often involves refining an idea until I get a result that's unexpected and more than just basic in function. For instance the Compania table I designed for Val-Eur is a spacious table with an exceptional frame that optimises sitting comfort and flexibility. Three legs on each side are placed in such a way that every dinner guest has sufficient space underneath the table.
